Rock Climbing with Dad

For those that know Brigham, you probably know that he loves rock climbing. One of the things that he really wanted to do before he left for Honduras was to take Andy rock climbing up Logan Canyon.

This of course required us to purchase a kid harness... which we did. We conveniently had a gift card to REI from Brig's coworkers up in AK. (Thank you!) I felt like this was a valid purchase since Brig's birthday was coming up, and rock climbing is inevitable in my children's future so I might as well make sure they're safe.

Here is my little stud before his maiden voyage in the climbing world.
I thought Andy looked so adorable in the little harness. It made my heart melt. He also had to wear his Cowboy hat while climbing. He was afraid the "Osquitoes" were going to get him.
Ezra enjoyed crawling around in the dirt and trying to eat rocks.
After all was said and done, Andy was braver without the harness then with, but did surprisingly well with trusting the harness when we belayed him down.
His favorite part, however, was not the climbing, but the cool cave that was just around the corner. He went back and forth through the cave several times.
*Funny side note: There was actually a group of climbers climbing on one side of the cave and one time Andy came out of the cave, saw the male climbers without their shirts, and said, "Naked!" Ah, it was epic. Then he pointed to the female climber and said, "Dressed."

Andy's face was extremely dirty after his escapade in the cave.
Also, our little Andy's namesake, Andy King, made an appearance. He stopped by for a bit on his way up to Pickleville Playhouse.
And even though he didn't suit up, Brig made sure Ezra got some rock time as well.
It's fun to see how much Brig loves his little boys and how he wants them to enjoy the things he enjoys. Hopefully we will get to raise some adventurous boys who will love going climbing with their dad. But if not, maybe I can get them to stay home and crochet with me. ;)
