A couple Saturdays ago Brig was busy in the lab doing Masters oriented stuff, and Jake Atkinson was out on a caribou hunt, so Julie and I thought it was the perfect day to take the boys to the zoo. Uncle Jed came along, too.
It was a GREAT day to go to the zoo. Last time I had been there all the animals were sleeping. Our first stop at the polar bear was awesome! There were two bears in there and one of them was swimming around in the water right by the glass. Oliver and Andy thought it was very cool.
The petting zoo was also open when we went so of course we hit that up. There were a bunch of goats, and some chickens, and a rabbit.
The chickens were mainly hanging out in their little coup, but the boys did get to pet the goats. They even made sure to play with the goats' toys.
Uncle Jed felt it was imperative that the boys get a picture of them "riding" on the goats.
Andy really enjoyed watching all of the different animals. It didn't matter what animal enclosure we were at, I always had to convince him to leave so we could see the other animals.
We ended our trip to the zoo with lunch...
And a super adorable picture of the boys.
Andy saw this sign and walked up to it, turned around and pointed next to him and repeated Oliver's name over and over until he came and stood by him.
It was definitely a successful trip. Maybe grandma will take Andy again when she comes up to visit?
