Dustin's Court of Honor

The second Sunday that we were down in Utah this summer my youngest brother Dustin received his Eagle.

It was pretty cool that we got to actually be there for the Court of Honor.

The festivities started right after church with an amazing meal of delicious food, lots of friends and family there to support, and my super loud child. Andy decided that it was a good day to see how loud he could be and would randomly yell while everyone was eating.

Maybe he was telling us we were too loud.

Anyway, at the church my mom had this awesome table set up. A family friend's daughter made all of the cupcakes. I believe there was chocolate with raspberry filling, red velvet with a cream filling, and lemon with a white chocolate center. They were very tasty and looked super professional.
However, we didn't get to dig in until after the whole shindig.

Here's the Eagle's Nest. Brig was holding my dad's phone because we were face-timing with Nicole and Talon, and Tal had to be in the Eagle's Nest.
It was a nice ceremony and not too long either. We had a beautiful musical number by my sister Melanie. She sang the "I'm Proud to Be An American" song.
And here is Dustin becoming an Eagle.
He's such a good lookin' kid....
The next part of the ceremony was the parent pins. My mom was joking that the mother's pin should be a badger instead of an eagle because the mom has to badger her son until he gets his Eagle.

Aside from the parent pins there is also a mentor pin. When his Scout Master asked if there was anyone there that he would like to give the pin to, Dustin said something along the lines of... "Yeah, there is someone. And he's actually here."

He then said Brig's name.

I'm glad that my sister and I each married guys that are so awesome and get along with our family so well. I just love this picture of the 4 Eagles.
And here are my super cool brothers...
Yes, Chase is in a kilt. He got to go to Scotland for a scout jamboree several years ago and he wore his kilt when he got his Eagle. Brig was wishing he had his kilt too. I don't know why Brig has one though...

And here is a super adorable picture of my parents and their grown up Eagle Scout.
Congratulations Dustin! Glad we were there to participate.
