A Weekend at Bear Lake

While in Utah we spent one of our weekends at Bear Lake.

We headed up Friday evening, settled into our rooms at Blue Water Resort and then headed to dinner. The first night we ate at Merlin's. I totally missed out on this, but my family got a massage train going while waiting in line.
After scarfing our food we headed over to Pickleville Playhouse to see "The Hanging of Juanito Bandito: Reimagined." Like always.... it was fabulous. It's always so great to be at Pickleville. It sorta feels like home. (Partially because it was one summer... at least for me. It was Brig's for several summers.)

The next morning started nice and early for my brother Chase. He was participating in an Olympic length triathlon. After getting out of the water after his swim in Bear Lake he was hypothermic, and although my mom and Yeon Mi wanted him to stop he continued onward. We were all a little concerned when an ambulance went out after one of the race participants.

And then we were more concerned when another ambulance went by our cheering section.

Thankfully, neither of the ambulances was for our awesome Chase.

We had a great location for cheering people on as they came in to get ready for their transition from bike to run.

And Lexi was fabulous at following Andy around again.
Although my mom did have to help out a bit with a ride in the Burley.

Here is my bro coming in on the bike.
Brig met up with Chase at the transition point and ran the 10k with him for support. The swim really took it out of him, so it was good to have Brig there.
We were all so excited when he finished. And all exhausted too, although not quite as tired as Chase.

We all headed back to the hotel and had some lunch and then everybody headed out to the beach. My initial plan was to join everyone once Andy woke up from his nap, but he ended up sleeping for about 3 hours +.

Lexi was a little put out that Andy napped for so long. Andy would have loved to build a sand castle with her.

After Chase's race finished Brig took off to go meet up with his family that was participating in the Mt. Logan Marathon. He met up with them for the end of the race and helped them bring it in.

Once all of the race supporting was done, Brig came back, and after a much needed shower we headed over to Pickleville a little early so we could see these awesome people.
It was fun to see Andy and Shar with their 3 adorable girls. Andy is just a couple month older then their youngest, Tess, so we're hoping for a family connection in the future. ;)

Andy was really good at sharing his water with Tess.

And he liked playing in the tree fort with dad.
The rest of my family showed up for the dinner before we went to our second Pickleville show.

Forever Plaid was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!!! We loved it.

I'm so glad that we were able to make a trip up to Bear Lake for such a fun weekend.
