The Hogle Zoo

One of the things that my mom REALLY wanted to do while we were visiting this summer was take Andy to the zoo.

It was his first trip to a zoo outside of my belly.
The Crew: Yeon Mi, my Mom, Andy, Lexi, Megan, me, and Aunt Dana behind the camera.
My mom was so excited that she not only got to take Andy to the zoo, but two of her unborn grandchildren as well.

I think that Andy really enjoyed it. He got to watch the bears wrestle in the water, see the rhino up close, as well as the giraffes, and most of the other animals too.

The bird show was probably his favorite part.

This particular owl almost took Andy's head off. He soared right over us.
And if the bird show wasn't his favorite part, it was having my cousin Lexi be his personal caretaker.

Oh, wait... that was my favorite part. :)

Lexi was fabulous. She pushed the stroller most of the day. She kept him hydrated by making sure he was drinking his water, and she also made sure he saw all the animals and chased him around when he wanted to walk.

The gorilla was sitting right in front of the glass just staring at everybody.
Coming out of the reptile house.

In my family we do this thing called the "peacock call." It originated from my group of friends in High School. We would always do the call in the hallways at school to get each others attention. Well, my family adopted the call and have been doing it ever since.

So naturally when we saw the peacock at the zoo we had to do the call. The best part was that it cocked it's head and returned the call. Andy was fascinated. As we were walking away he started to mimic the call.

And in honor of my little bro getting his eagle, Lexi and Andy got a picture in the Eagle's nest.

While Lexi was taking care of Andy, her older sister Megan was taking care of Yeon Mi by pushing her around in the wheelchair. It was fun to have Yeon Mi there even though she was "technically" on bed rest.

Megan is a champ. She pushed the chair all day and I'll have you know that The Hogle Zoo is not flat. Major bonus points for her.

Besides the bird show, and seeing all the animals we took a ride on the Merry-Go-Round.

We also had tickets to ride the train, but by the end of the day we were tuckered out and ready to go so we opted for ice cream and dip n' dots.
