TJ's 1st Triatholon

For those who don't know, Brig comes from a family of 10 red-headed children. He is #6 in the line-up and the 5th boy out of 7. One of his brothers, Tj [#5 and the 4th boy], lives just down in Orem with his beautiful wife Charity, and adorable little girls Emery, Annabelle, & Josie. Last month Tj ran his first triathalon, and we went down to cheer him on.

Transitioning to the bike

Coming in from the bike section.

The bike route was a 5 mile loop that you were supposed to bike twice to get the 10 miles, but Tj missed the turn in [the practice maps were different from the actual course...stupid if you ask me] after the second loop and had to do an entire extra loop. This put him approx. 100th in the line up, but everyone else only did 10 instead of 15 miles, and he still beat tons of people.

One thing to know about Tj is that he is SUPER optimistic and never angry. Even though he had done 5 EXTRA MILES on the bike he was still chipper and as happy as ever. Charity and I had to be angry for him. We figured out that without the extra bike loop he would have been in the top 5, which was his goal...so that gave us some consolation.
