The BIG Gala Event

In February our ward had a huge celebration. The theme was the based on the Book of Mormon. There were different activities relating to the stories that are found in the Book of Mormon. Right as you would enter the building a "rod of iron" was there to lead you through a mist of darkness to the "tree of life." [1 Nephi 8; 1 Nephi 11-12]

There were multiple stations of mini activities at the beginning of the event. The first was about the Brother of Jared and how he saw God's finger touching the stones to give them light as they traveled across the sea. We were each given a rock that had glow in the dark paint....they really give light! [Ether 3]

The next mini station was building your own stripling warrior out of play dough. We named our stripling warrior Brigham. :) Here is a picture of the handsome warrior, as well as a picture of
the Anderson's (aka Nicole and Talon) warrior with ours. [Alma 56]

After the mini activities, we were all ushered into the gym for a delicious dinner. The tables all had awesome center pieces made by a sister in our ward. The Liahonas [1 Nephi 16] were my favorite! Here are some pictures of Nicole and Talon modeling how delicious our food was.

The last activity of the night was after dinner. The Carter family (Our Bishop's family) put on an amazing musical show relating to the Book of Mormon. There were all sorts of amazing songs!
