However, due to liability and maybe lack of snow....they switched things up.
Instead of the "Big Air" they held a Soap Box race.
All contestants are to build a race car out of cardboard, string, and tape. There were prizes for fastest time, creativity, people's choice, and hitting the bulls eye.
It was pretty amazing what the people were able to come up with. I believe there were 37 entries....
Here is the documentation of this awesome event.
The Viking's made an appearance.

Three of these guys are actually instructors with Brig and I. Their costumes were pretty funny. They cut open stuffed animals and put their feet through them to make leg warmers.
From top left to bottom right... a VW van, the kitchen crew at Beaver Mtn., a sled of cardboard, and a fast bullet like vehicle.
The ORC entered a raft which was pretty cool. I heard that they actually had a raft under all of the cardboard...but I don't know if that is true.
In this collage there is a "Ski the Beav" car, the Zamboni Patrol, a pink beaver, and the Silver Bullet.
I think this next one was probably my favorite of the day.
The space shuttle was taped to the guy riding on top of the boosters....but then as they flew past us we noticed another pair of legs coming out of the boosters with flames attached moving up and down.
It was hilarious. Just trust me on this one.
In this collage you will find the Shaggin' wagon, a car in honor of Avatar, a banana, and a crashing American bobsled.
(The lady in the banana is actually the mother of the kids that were originally in the banana, but they fell out so they ran for the finish line and mom jumped in the banana. It was hilarious. She was screaming, "OH MY GOSH!" with her arms wide open.)
These kids are the children of one of our fellow ski instructors. They made their soap box look like a toothbrush.
They called it the "Cavity Killer."
In this collage of pictures there is a steam engine, a specially engineered fast blue car, the titanic, and an empty German bobsled (They crashed...which is actually kind of reminiscent of the Olympics).
Here are a couple dairy princesses. They were throwing candy to the crowd like they were in a parade.
Another event that occurred at "The Beaver Bash" is an event called the Pond Skim. This is when people try to get across a "pond" of water on their skis or board without falling in.
Here is the Beaver Mtn beaver doing the pond skim...with his tail on fire.
Some of the pond skimmers were successful.
Others were not.
Brig did the pond skim as well.... and of course was successful.
Besides watching the fun events, Brig and I were able to spend some sweet time with friends and my papa.
Our friend Shanelle
The Hoovers
My papa snowboarding with us. :)
