A Time to Be Thankful

Thanksgiving was wonderful this year. As it always is.

We joined with some of our Air Force friends for Thanksgiving Dinner. The hostesses made this insane dessert that they saw on Pinterest. They called it a Pumple.

There are 2 main layers in this dessert. One was a pumpkin pie baked inside two layers of white cake. The second was an apple pie baked inside a spice cake. There was supposed to be a third layer as well of a cherry pie baked inside another cake, but they left off the cherry.

Here it is in all its glory.
The Pumple
Although I didn't manage to get a lot of pictures of the gathering, I did remember to take a family photo.

And I got a cute one of my boys together in their new shirts a friend sent.

We kept with our tradition of doing a "Thankful Turkey" starting at the beginning of November. Each day we wrote something down on a feather that we were grateful for and added to Tom.

With 4 of us, he got quite large by the end. Every time Andy sees a picture of a peacock now he says turkey.
